Who you’ll work with
I’m Samuel Sayre. I’m a fragrance historian and consultant with 25 years in fine fragrance and luxury service.
I’ve worked in high-end retail and alongside perfume houses. I also write the History of Perfume and the Fragrance Library.

How does an online fragrance consultation work without smelling anything?
I work from what you already know you love and dislike. Shared notes and structures tell me a lot. You then sample the shortlist on your own skin before you buy.
How long until I hear back?
I reply within 5 days of receiving your answers.
Do you sell the fragrances you recommend?
No. I don’t sell bottles, and my advice is independent of any brand. I do create scents by commission: signature scents for hotels and properties, and bespoke fragrances for private clients.
